Nature
|
Besides the art, there is also a wealth of uncontaminated nature around San Felice,
which is surrounded by the Chianti Mountains, rising to the North in view of Florence
Cathedral and Giotto's bell tower, and levelling off at the first houses in Siena,
not far from the Torre del Mangia and Piazza del Campo. The mountains, which reach
their highest peak at San Michele (892 m. above sea level), are covered in |

pine woods, beech, ilex and vast areas of chestnut woods, interspersed with the
most characteristic plants of this region: the cypress, olive and vine. San Felice
provides the opportunity of discovering little-known areas of Chianti. The area
is excellent for hiking, mountain bike excursions and riding. Wild deer, roe deer,
foxes, porcupine and other rare animals can be found in the mountains.
