In the past and, fortunately, the present, the Chianti countryside provided the
flavours and principles on which the region's local cuisine is based. These regional
dishes can be savoured at San Felice, both in their rustic and more modern interpretations.
Chianti Classico Docg red wine, extra virgin olive oil, honey, vin santo, pecorino
cheese (sheep's' milk), Cinta Senese cured meats and delicious Chianina beef can
all be tasted. |

There are also other types of product that have deservedly become famous in Chianti:
there are many ceramics workshops as well as Sienese terracotta factories. A visit
to the numerous ceramics workshops in the area is like entering a magical vortex
of shapes and colours, which transmit the age-old local tradition, dating as far
back as the Etruscans. A visit to artisans making wrought iron pieces or hand
embroideries, both traditional to the area, is recommended.

Mention should also be made of the courtesy of the people of Chianti: their behaviour
is in itself a form of high craftsmanship of the spirit. Take, for example, the
affable, welcoming character of Bruna, who has lived all her life in San Felice
and works in her small garden every day with the application and dedication of
someone who knows that they must make this corner of the world, which is not hers
exclusively, into a more beautiful place.
